Meet Miss Tiffany

Hi! I'm Tiffany Dean, owner and lead teacher of Dean Family Child Care Home & Preschool.

 

For more than 13 years, I've had the privilege of working with young children and their families. I believe the early childhood years should be filled with meaningful relationships, play, exploration, time in nature, and opportunities for children to discover who they are as learners.

​

One of the things I value most about my program is its intentionally small size. With a maximum of just six children, I'm able to truly know each child—their personality, interests, strengths, challenges, and individual developmental needs. Rather than children getting lost in a large classroom, I can meet them where they are and thoughtfully support where they're going next.

My Education & Experience

I hold an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Montgomery County Community College and a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with PreK–4 teacher certification from Arcadia University.

​

I continue my professional development each year and maintain current First Aid and CPR certifications. Dean Family Child Care Home & Preschool has also earned Pennsylvania's highest Keystone STAR 4 quality designation.

​

My education has given me a strong understanding of child development and intentional teaching, but my years in early childhood education have also taught me something equally important: young children learn best when they feel safe, connected, capable, and genuinely excited to learn.

​

My Approach to Teaching

I don't believe preschool should look like elementary school pushed down to younger children.

​

Children in my program learn through play, relationships, hands-on experiences, nature, investigation, conversation, and thoughtfully designed learning opportunities.

​

You'll see early literacy and mathematics, science and inquiry, art and creativity, problem-solving, fine- and gross-motor development, and plenty of opportunities to build independence.

​

But kindergarten readiness is about much more than knowing letters and numbers.

​

Learning how to communicate needs, manage big emotions, solve problems with peers, participate in a group, care for belongings, persist when something is difficult, and confidently try something new are all important parts of being ready for school.

​

That's why social-emotional development is at the heart of my teaching.

​

Every Child Deserves to Be Known

I believe one of my most important roles as an educator is to advocate for children.

​

Every child develops differently and brings their own strengths, interests, temperament, and needs into the classroom. I work closely with families and, when appropriate, other professionals to make sure children receive the support they need to thrive.

​

The relationship between home and preschool matters tremendously to me. I want families to feel comfortable communicating with me, asking questions, sharing concerns, and celebrating their child's growth alongside me.

​

A Little About Me

Outside of teaching, I'm also a wife and mom of two. Being both a parent and an educator has given me an even greater appreciation for how much trust it takes to place your child in someone else's care each day.

​

My goal is for families to know that their child isn't simply being supervised while they're at work. They're spending their day with a teacher who knows them, cares deeply about their development, and is intentionally preparing an environment where they can grow.
